Georgean M. Austin, 60, of Palmer Drive, died Sept. 5, 2007 in the Oneida Healthcare Center following a lengthy illness. Born in Utica, she was the daughter of George and Jean Urban Abbey Sr. A resident of the area for the past 10 years, Ms. Austin was educated in the Remsen Schools. She married Robert G. "Gary" Atkinson. Prior to her retirement, Ms. Austin was employed as a manager with Radio Shack. She was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are two daughters and sons-in-law, Melissa and Kevin Dager of Oneida and Tina and Dale Kitchen of Clinton; one son, R. Scott Atkinson and his companion, Dawn Held of Oneida; nine grandchildren, Bree Atkinson, Tyler Dager, Tanner Dager, Bobby Kitchen, Tara Kitchen, Steven Kitchen, Desiree Kitchen, Jennifer Held and Michael Held and one brother and sister-in-law, George and Selena Abbey of Remsen.
