Mrs. Josephine Frances Condor Tharp departed this life December 29, 1915. She was born in Kentucky, Sept., 19, 1926. She was married to Evan S. Tharp about the year 1843. To this union were born eleven children of whom ten survive, namely, Dr. J.H., Richard, Harvey, Robert, Willie, Mrs. Ellen Burch, Mrs. Martha Prather, Mrs. Cassie Gray, Mrs. Mollie Shiflett and Mrs. Sallie Hagan, also forty-three grand children and fifty great grand children. Soon after her marriage she and her husband moved to Linn county where they continued to reside until the final summons, The husband and father died December 17, 1893. After coming to Missouri they united with the Parson Creek Baptist church holding membership with the church until the organization of the Eversonville Baptist church to which place they transferred their membership and remained there until called to their heavenly home. Her funeral was preached by Rev. J.M. Ragan who used as his text Revelations 14:13, after which her body was laid to rest beside her husband in Parson Creek cemetery. In the death of this venerable lady is broken up one of the oldest homes of the community which has always been noted for it's Christian hospitality. The relatives have the sympathy of all their friends.
