MARK THAYER SANFORD, 55, of Greenwich, passed away after a long illness on March 3, 2012. Mark is survived by his wife, Roseanne Forte Sanford, daughters, Giulia and Amelia, son Mark, sister Nancy Sanford of Bennington, Vermont, mother-in-law Rosina Forte, sister-in-law Fran Kompar and her husband Mike, brother-in-law Al Forte, seven nieces and nephews and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was predeceased by his parents, Earl Leroy Sanford of Norwalk and Barbara Sanford Gust of Arlington, Vermont and his father-in-law, Paolo Forte. As a graduate of Iona College in New Rochelle, New York, Mark worked in advertising and sales management for several newspapers, magazines, and retail organizations. Mark was presently studying in the Diaconite Formation Program with the Catholic Diocese of Bridgeport and was in the Ordination Classes of 2012 and 2015. Mark was a man of faith, and a positive and caring individual. A loving father and husband, Mark was dedicated to his wife, children, and family: they always were his greatest accomplishment. He was always upbeat, and had a great sense of humor, even through his long illness and suffering. Calling hours for friends and family will be held on Monday, March 5, 2012 4-8 p.m. at the Castiglione Funeral Home, 134 Hamilton Ave., Greenwich. A mass of Christian burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church in Byram on Tuesday March 6 at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Putnam Cemetery, 35 Parsonage Rd., Greenwich.
