The death of Mrs. Julia Martin at her home in Flintsville District on Sunday night removes one of the oldest, most beloved women of the county. She was 85 years old and her death came unexpectedly. She took sick the day before her death and due to her advanced age could not overcome the illness.
Funeral services were conducted by her pastor at Prospect church Tuesday. A large concourse of sorrowing friends and relatives attended the funeral attesting the high esteem in which she was held.
Mrs. Martin was a consecrated member of the Prospect Methodist Church and lived a most exemplary life. She numbered her friends by he acquaintances and in her death many have lost a valuable friend.
She is survived by 4 boys and 3 girls as follows: Messrs. W. T. Martin and O. P. Martin of near Mize; Spear and Zack Martin of Stephens county; Mrs. George Segars and Mrs. J. E. Whitfield of Stranges District, Mrs. Emeline Wilkinson of Banks County. A large number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive.
The relatives have the deepest sympathy of their friends in the death of this noble mother and grandmother.

Note: Julia Ann Clementine Kesler Martin was a daughter of George Kesler and Mary Jane (Polly) Miller Kesler.
She was a a granddaughter of William Henry Kesler and Barbara Ann Clementine Cromer Kesler and James Miller and Adenia Dolba Mayson Miller. Julia's husband was Derrell Andrew Martin.
