Mr. David Byrd, 72, of Homerville, Georgia, formerly of Adel and Valdosta, passed away on May 14, 2020 at the Riverbrook Healthcare Center in Homerville. Mr. Byrd was born on March 11, 1948 in Adel, Georgia to the late David Grover "Jack" Byrd and Alma Louise Smith Byrd. He lived most of his life in Adel and Valdosta. Mr. Byrd was of the Baptist faith and was a retired paramedic with South Georgia Medical Center. He served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam War. Mr. Byrd is survived by two sons: Keith Byrd and his fiancee', Carolyn Williams, and Daniel Byrd, all of Valdosta; one daughter and son-in-law, Felecia and Donnie Horne of Nashville, Georgia; five grandchildren: Gessiah, Aubrey and Josie Byrd, all of Valdosta, Gage Rutland and Laken Rutland, both of Thomasville, Georgia; one brother and sister-in-law, Walter and Emila Byrd of Hahira, Georgia; and a sister-in-law, Molly Byrd of Adel. He was preceded in death by one brother, Frederick L. Byrd, Sr.. A graveside service was held on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at the Woodlawn Cemetery Annex.
