Born to an upstanding family in what was then known as the Arizona Territory; His father was a Justice of the Peace. He grew up to become Sheriff of Tombstone, Arizona, but while catching cattle rustlers, he was also stealing cattle by the 1890's. In 1899, he was Wilcox, Arizona marshall, but later formed a gang, robbed trains, went to jail, and escaped jail several times. He supposedly ended up as a Panama Canal worker and died there around 1910, but official documentation was never proven.
