Mr. Poston was born September 8, 1931 in Winnsboro, South Carolina to the late Morse William Poston, Sr. and the late Dora Bell Sanders Poston. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby Lois Boots Poston. He was also preceded in death by sister Hattie Louise Poston Branham, sister Betty Sanders Poston Carlton, brother Morse William “Billy” Poston, Jr., and sister Esther Rebecca “Becky” Poston Medlin.
A graveside service will be on Friday, June 26 at 11:00 am at Carolina Memorial Park Kannapolis Hwy. 29N at I85, Exit 58 with Reverend Robert Leonard officiating.
Survivors include daughter, Nikki (Bobby) Fisher of Concord, NC, and granddaughters Sydney (Dalton) Brandon, Morgan Fisher, and Kendal Fisher; step-daughter, Jeri Simpson of China Grove, NC, and grandchildren Gloria (Jody) Lambert, Heath (Rachel) Simpson, and Kristin Simpson; Garrell Simpson; sister Helen (Charles) Mincey, sister Doris Smith, sister Nancy Boone, and sister Sandra Ramsey.
Lonnie served his country in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS St. Paul during the Korean War and worked as a Manufacturing Supervisor at Lippert Component before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, football, playing cards, and spending time with his family.
