Bertha May Brehm was born to Charles C and Lydia Ann (Johnson) Brehm on March 26, 1910, in Baltimore, Maryland.

Bertha married Thomas Horney at age 14 in 1924 and had 5 children. A daughter Janet was born and died around age 2, but no birth or death dates were ever provided to any of the other children by their mother, that we are aware of. Janet was buried in the same plot as her grandmother Lydia Ann (nee Johnson) Brehm.

After Thomas passed away in 1941, she married James Armstrong on January 20, 1943, and had 9 children with him. They had a premature son who passed away in 1943, followed by triplets in 1945, however, they also passed away. In 1946, they had a set of twins ( a boy & a girl), followed in 1948, by another set of triplets ( a girl and 2 boys, however, the little girl passed away). I have been told by several family members that Bertha was in the Guinness Book of World records for having 2 sets of triplets and a set of twins in 5 years which as a very short period of time, but that has never been confirmed.

Bertha was one of 12 children born to Charles & Lydia Brehm. I am actively searching for her siblings, and adding links to their memorials as they are located. Per one of her daughters, her mother indicated that 4 children were either stillborn or died at birth, but we have no definite dates, except the last one who died before birth in 1911.
