Daniel G Morrow, Danny, as he was known by his friends, 68, of Villa Rica, GA died Friday, July 31, 2020 in Tanner Medical Center, Carrollton.

He lived his entire lifetime in this area, graduated from Villa Rica High School in 1969, was drafted into the United States Army and served as Military Police in Korea during the Vietnam War. After his release from military service, he followed in his father's business and began his career as a grading contractor that lasted forty-seven years.

He enjoyed water skiing and water sports at Lake Buckhorn, 4th of July fireworks; raised a fine garden from seed to harvest; enjoyed traveling to the beach, the mountains, Texas and even the Grand Canyon; followed racing and local football teams, and had a great love and appreciation for good music. He was a lifelong and faithful member of Powell Chapel United Methodist Church and served as treasurer for many years and in various other church positions. He sung in the choir and was a soloist. He will be missed by his family and his many friends, but will be long remembered by the special memories he leaves behind.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by a brother, Sammy Morrow; his maternal grandparents, Arling and Lula Williams and his paternal grandparents, Jesse and Etta Smith Morrow.
.
He is survived by his mother Betty (Gerald) Abercrombie, siblings Sandy Tumlin and Donald Morrow of Newell Alabama, sons, Courtney(Lauren) and Dustin Morrow of Atlanta; step-children Shane Gollahon and Carrie Michelle Gollahon Pannell; many extended family generations also survive.

Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 3, 2020 at 2:00 P.M. from the Chapel of J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home, with the Rev. Thomas Long and the Rev. Jimmy Drew officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the Honor Guard Team of American Legion Post 143.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated following the funeral service.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made in his memory to J. Hoyt Thomas Funeral Home to help cover the funeral expenses.

Following the funeral service, family members and friends will be escorted on an "Honor" ride to Powell Chapel UMC Cemetery to place a wreath on the place where his cremains will be buried at a later date.

On or about 2010 he experienced kidney failure and was put on dialysis indefinitely. Amazingly, a kidney transplant became available for him October 2019, and he received his new kidney and no longer had to do dialysis. He lost his vision 4.5 mos later, and passed away 5 mos after he lost his vision.

He was a kind person and a true Southern gentleman and will be missed by all that knew him.
