Lihue Tandy Wilburn Sr., the son of William Warren Wilburn and Frances Smith, was a Confederate Soldier and a Veteran of the Civil War. He had four sons and two son-in-laws that were also Confederate Soldiers in the Civil War. His 2nd oldest son, James S. Wilburn and his daughter's husband, Benjamin H. Schooler were killed in the Civil War.

Lihue married his 1st wife, Cynthia J. Brittain the daughter of William Martin Brittain and Rosanna (Rosey) Wright, on November 13th, 1827 in Madison County, Alabama. In January 1837, he moved his wife and three children from Pulaski County, Arkansas to Shelby County, Texas. After moving to Texas they had five more children for a total of eight; five sons and three daughters. They named one of their sons Tandy Lihue "Lite" Wilburn (1846-1887).

The 1850 US-Census for Shelby County, Texas list L.T. Wilburn age 42 born in Ireland, Married-Head of Household-Farmer, farming 1250 acres. Wife Scinthy age 41 born in North Carolina, and seven children; William B. age 18 born in Arkansas, James S. age 16 born in Arkansas, Emelia age 10 born in Texas, John age 9 born in Texas, W.M. age 6 born in Texas, Elihue age 4 born in Texas, and Elizabeth age 2 born in Texas. (Lihue's 10 year old daughter, Emilia died just after the 1850 Census.)

The 1860 US-Census for Shelby County, Texas list L.T. Wilson (Wilburn) age 53-GA, Married-Head of Household-Farmer, farming 3350 acres. Wife C. age 53-NC, and three children all born in Texas; (male) M.M. age 16, (male) L.T. age 14, and (female) S.E. age 12.

Not to confuse History!
His 1st wife passed away on February 1st, 1869 in West Hamilton, Shelby County, Texas. Lihue married Cynthia Jane Roberts, the daughter of Moses Fisk Roberts and Nancy Murray, on July 9th, 1870 in Shelby County, Texas. They had five children; three sons and two daughters. Lihue passed away before his last child was born, but being a boy his wife named him Lihue Tandy Wilburn Jr. (1880-1959).
