Joy P. Hanson, 85, of Pensacola passed away Monday, August 13, 2007.
Joy was born on November 26, 1921, in Milan, MO. She was a loving wife and a devoted mother. She lived an active life and was involved in many activities, and among other things, she was an avid and competitive golfer. While in New Jersey she won the Ladies Golf Championship at the Picatinny Arsenal Golf Club five times, and here in Pensacola she won the Ladies Championship four times at Scenic Hills Country Club.
Her parents, one brother, and a sister preceded Joy in death.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Captain Eugene R. Hanson, USN (ret); sons, David (Carol) and Robin; sister, Wanda Romano; brother and sister-in-law Harold and Marlene Moore.
Visitation will be 9:30am Thursday, August 16, 2007 followed by the Funeral Service at 10:30am at Harper-Morris Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Ken Griffin officiating.
Mrs. Hanson will be laid to rest at Barrancas National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Covenant Hospice, 5041 N. 12th Avenue, Pensacola, FL 32504.
