The Portuguese ruling was recognised in France by an Exequatur of the Tribunal of the Grande Instance of Paris on March 6, 1957. A Romanian court ruled in 1995 that Carol was the legitimate son of King Carol II and the ruling was upheld upon appeal by former King Michael I.
