"Gino",as he was affectionately known to all,attended Southern Nash Junior High School in Spring Hope North Carolina.
Gino went to work with Brantley's Auto where he attended Auto Mechanics School. He also worked as a mechanic at Peele Timber,Inc.in Middlesex,North Carolina. When he was not at work he enjoyed fishing,hunting,helping others and playing with his children.
He was united in Holy Matrimony to Rahsaana Poteat on June 13,2005.
He was preceded in death by his granparents,Eugene & Ella Pearl Holder and Clarence & Sally Wheless,a special grandmother,Agnes Strickland;and his stepfather,Earl Lee Strickland.
Gino leaves to cherish his memories: his wife,Rahsaana Lumea Holder,four sons,Maurice Poteat,Ebae Poteat-Shambley,.KeShaun Poteat and Eugene Wayne Holder,Jr.all of the home;one daughter,Quandarah Jamea Holder of the home; mother and stepfather,Pearlene and Jimmie Allen of Bailey, father,James Wheless(wife-Myra)of Fayetteville NC.;one brother,Aaron Earl Srickland(wife-Annette)of Bailey;one sister,Melisa Darlene Mills(husband-Lance)of Wilson;three stepsisters,Angel Richardson and Earlisha Richardson both of Bailey and Talea Braswell of Spring Hope;one god-daughter,Kenya Alexandra Foster,four nephews,Kent Hawkins,Jr.,Keyonte Mills,DeAndre Ellis and Trevon Baker,three nieces,Shedea Strickland,Quneshia Mitchell and Quataya Taybron;two other brother-in-laws,Morris Silver,Jr.and Oronde Silver both of Philadelphia,PA;three very close friends Danny Ray Peele,Truesa Hopkins and Robbie Tippett;a host of aunts, uncles,cousins and friends.
