Born December 3, 1929, in Harrisburg, he was a son of the late William R. Bromley, Sr. and Rose J (Coulter) Bromley. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy J. (Ritter) Bromley on March 25, 1999.
A 1947 graduate of John Harris High School, Robert later served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean War. For 37 years, he was employed as a Construction Superintended by Ritter Brothers, Inc., Harrisburg, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American Legion Post #730, Penbrook, the Carpenter's Union Local 287, Harrisburg, and Hope United Methodist Church, Mechanicsburg.
Robert cherished spending time with family and friends, especially his many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He brought so much to life - stories, fun, lessons, love and inspiration. Robert was a wonderful person, and all who knew him. In addition to his family, Bob had a strong passion for golf. He enjoyed playing golf, watching it on television, and giving pointers to anyone in need.
Robert is survived by his four daughters, Kimberly L. (Gary) Hastings and Terry L. (Kenneth) Probst, all of Dauphin, Tammy E. (Ken) Leitzell of Colonial Park, and Amy J. (Mike) Dankanich of Lewisberry. He is also survived by his brother, William R. (Genevieve) Bromley Jr., of Mechanicsburg, and, 13 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
His funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday December 9, 2016, at the Jesse H. Geigle Funeral Home, Inc., 2100 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg, with Military Honors, will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens, Harrisburg. The family receive friends on Friday, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hope United Methodist Church, 6260 Carlisle Pike, Mechanicsburg, PA 17050.
