Ralph proudly served in the United States Air Force. From 1955-1957, he was in the Air Force Reserves, and from 1957-1965, Ralph served in the Air Force full time. After getting out of the military, Ralph was a diesel mechanic at Yellow Freight for 32 years. Ralph and Geneva were members of Eternal Life Baptist Church for many years until moving to Freetown, IN in 2007. They found a new church home in Freetown, the Freetown Baptist Church, where Ralph was a Trustee.
Ralph lived life to the fullest. He was an avid outdoors man. Ralph taught Hunters Ed in Hendricks County and shotgun safety for the Boy Scouts. He was also a hunter, fisher man, and a member of the NRA. Ralph was a family man; he enjoyed passing on his knowledge of the outdoors to his family. While raising his family, Ralph was a Weablow leader, baseball coach, and president of the Monrovia Baseball League. He is going to be greatly missed by his loving family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Terri Atwell; grandson, Eric Raikes; two sisters; and one brother.
Survivors include his wife; six sons; three daughters; one brother; four sisters; 26 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.
A private graveside service will be held for the immediate family at Mt Pleasant Cemetery.
