James Delbert Wilhite, Jr.. was born on January 29, 1928 in Dallas, Texas. He was the s/o James Delbert Wilhite and Nancy Jane Manasco. His paternal grandparents were Robert Franklin Wilhite and Beulah Mae Williams. His maternal grandparents were Sam Houston Manasco and Mary Haley Carroll.

Jim spent one year at Crozier Technical High School where he met his future wife Jo Ann Bozarth. He finished his high school education at Forest High School. During World War II he served in the United States Coast Guard as an Ordinary Seaman.

Jim was working for Texas Instruments when he married Jo Ann Bozarth, the daughter of Claude Earl Bozarth and Fannie Lee Garner. Over the years Jim went from a very minor position in the very small company to become a Vice President of what became one of the largest companies in the world.

Jim and Jodie were married on June 16, 1951 at her home in Dallas. During the next five years they became the parents of twins Larry Gene and Garry Michael, who were born on April 30, 1952, a daughter Claudia Ann, who was born on October 13, 1953, and twins Linda Gail and James Dale, who were born on April 21, 1956.

The family moved often as Jim's Texas Instruments responsibilities increased. When he was placed in charge of the Texas Instrument branch in Rieta, Italy the family lived there from 1974 to 1976. Their youngest daughter Gail and Delmonico Fabio Berardicurti, a native of Rome, were married there on May 22, 1975.

Jim worked for several other companies before he retired to their farm which they sold several years later and moved to Mineola, Texs. He died at his home there on February 05, 2003 after a short illness. He was cremated and buried in the J.O. and Bernice (Bozarth) Munn plot at the Mineola City Cemetery. He is survived by his wife, his three sons Larry Gene, Garry Michael and James Dale Wilhite and his two daughters Claudia Wilhite and Gail Berardicurti.
