William Franklin Bozarth was the son of Eli D. Bozarth and Mary Elizabeth Dewees of Caneyville, Grayson County, Kentucky. He was born there on December 18, 1862. His paternal grandparents were Jeremiah Bozorth and 2/w Sarah Grieves. His maternal grandparents were Farmer Dewees and Nancy Haynes. His great grandfathers Jonathan Bozorth, Joseph Dewees and William Haynes were veterans of the Revolutionary War.

William and Effie Mae Hussey, the daughter of Alexander Hamilton Hussey and Catherine Ann Shively, were married about 1885 in Grayson County, Kentucky. Her Shively ancestors were also pioneers in Jefferson County, Kentucky before it became a state in 1792.

William and Effie were the parents of:

William Franklin Bozarth family lived briefly in Doniphan County, Missouri before moving to East Texas about 1914 where he worked as a timber scout. He was predeceased by his sons Harry Malcolm in Kentucky and Robert Byron in Missouri. His beloved wife wife Effie Mae died on August 28, 1929 after a long illness. He followed her in death on May 9, 1932. They were both buried in the Mineola City Cemetery in Mineola, Wood County, Texas. Many years later their son Claude Earl and his wife Fannie Lee (Garner) Bozarth were buried by his parents.
