Susan D. Harmon, 68, of North Vernon, passed away at 1:32 p.m. on Sunday, March 29, 2020, at Columbus Regional Hospital.

Due to the recent pandemic event there will be no public viewing. Services were held privately. Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service was entrusted with the arrangements.

Born August 30, 1951, in Albany, Kentucky, Susan was the daughter of Bruce and Ida Mae (Riddle) Leveridge. She was united in marriage to Larry Harmon on September 6, 1969. He survives.

Susan, who was known as “Susie” by all who knew her well, had worked as an Attendant at the former Muscatatuck State Developmental Center. She was a member of the Commiskey Baptist Church and had attended the First Christian Church. Susan loved spending time with family, especially her husband and grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Larry Harmon of North Vernon, survivors include sons, Shawn (Jody) Harmon of North Vernon, Shane (Amy) Harmon of North Vernon, Travis (Wendy) Harmon of Dupont, and Trevor (Mandi) Harmon of North Vernon; sisters, Linda Krantz of Tennessee, Charlotte Short of Commiskey, Brenda Hughes of North Vernon, Patricia Short of Commiskey, and Leta Green of Commiskey; brother, Tim Leveridge of Burksville, KY; grandchildren, Shawna Harmon, Corbin Harmon, Parker Harmon, Kaila Harmon, Justin Harmon, Kolton Harmon, Hailey Harmon, Tyler Harmon, Ava Harmon, and Avery Harmon; great grandchild, Garrison Harmon.

Susan was preceded in death by her parents, Bruce and Ida Mae Leveridge; brothers, Sam and Daryl Leveridge.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to one of the following organizations: National Multiple Sclerosis Society, Disabled American Veterans, and/or Cystic Fibrosis Foundation for Brianna’s Angels.
