JULIAN — Mrs. Lucy Brown Atwater, 76, went home to be with her Savior on Monday, April 1, 2013 at Clapp's Nursing Center in Pleasant Garden.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 at Pleasant Garden Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Gilmore Memorial Park.
Mrs. Atwater was born on July 29, 1936 in Baltimore, Maryland. Lucy was formerly employed by N.C. Grange Insurance and attended Grace Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was predeceased by parents, Eugene and Mary Brown; brother, David Whittington and grandchild, Beverly Constable.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Robert Lee Atwater; children, Brenda Furr (Chris), Keith Atwater (Sheila) and Doug Atwater (Melinda); grandchildren, Brandon and Amber Constable, Ashley Atwater and David Atwater.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Forbis & Dick, Pleasant Garden Chapel.
