Gregory Dwight Easley (Greg) passed away in his home at 18 Captains Turn SE, Cartersville, Georgia, on February 19, 2020. Greg was 72 years old. He is the son of Raymond Easley and Kathryn Carter Easley, who preceeded him in death. Greg's Father was a career military man, and served his country in the United States Armed Services. Greg grew up as a career military family, stationed and travelling throughout the United States and many countries overseas. Their last assignment was in El Paso, Texas, Fort Bliss. Upon his Father's retirement from the United States Armed Services, Greg's family moved to Jacksonville, Florida. While in El Paso, Texas Greg attended Irvin High School (The Irvin Rockets) and graduated in the Class of 1965. Greg played baseball on the Irvin High School baseball team. Greg's best friend in high school was Dwight Hall. Because of their friendship, Greg spent a great deal of time at the Hall family home, was very well thought of and seemed like an extended part of of the family. After Greg's family moved to Florida, Greg came for an extended visit with the Hall family at the invitation of Dwight's Father. While there, Dwight's Father unexpectedly passed away. At this time Dwight and his elder brother were away from home, serving in United States military services during the Vietnam War. When this happened, Greg is who picked up the two much younger Hall children from school for their Mother and brought them home for her. Greg stayed on for several months after this, comforting and helping Dwight's Mother with her two young children, while she and they were grieving, and as she was adjusting and attending to many details relating to her young children that she was now raising alone. He was like another son to her and big brother to the younger children providing great comfort and help to them, it cannot be understated. Greg and Dwight always remained close friends over the years, although their lives took different paths. To the day Greg passed away, Dwight's little sister was extremely close to Greg, and called him "Number 4", referring to him like a fourth brother. Greg called her " Lil' Sis." Over the years, Greg eventually settled in Cartersville, Georgia after living and working in California for a while. His long career was in the Computer and Technology industry. He was very talented and sought after for his knowledge and expertise. Greg also took care of his Father in his senior years in Cartersville, Georgia, when his Father's health was failing, until his Father passed away. Greg had moved his Father into his home and the two of them lived together during this time. In mid 2018 Greg was diagnosed with lung cancer. He fought this disease bravely for a year and half, undergoing very invasive lung surgery followed by several rounds of chemotherapy causing severe side effects. In early January 2020 he was so excited to be found cancer free. However, Greg passed away unexpectedly in his home approximately a month later, entering into everlasting life with God and Jesus Christ. Greg was a devoted Christian. His faith and spirituality got him through some distressing times during his life, and he recollected an important occurrence with God one day when he was feeling at his lowest. Greg was a strong, extremely intelligent and brave man of good character. He was honorable, extremely compassionate and had a great sense of humor. He had many friends near and far. He will be greatly missed by them all, his special 'Little Sis' Hall, and his one sister and one niece who survive him.

Memorial was created and is Managed by his 'Special 'Lil Sis', as if his Little Sister, with extremely close familial connection, as identified in Biography. He was like a '4th brother' to her, and was always there for her. He had her back.
