Agnes Lavine Harris Services for Agnes Lavine Harris, 99, will be at 10 a.m. today at Craddock Funeral Home Memorial Chapel with Dr. Robert Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Provence Cemetery.

Born July 24, 1904, in Terrell, Texas, to James Henry Gale and Callie Stewart, she died Jan. 8, 2004, at a local health care facility. She married Dewey Sly Harris on Dec. 24, 1919, in Ardmore. He preceded her in death on March 23, 1992. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a son, Bobby Gene Harris; a daughter, Doris Argueree Harris, and grandsons, Larry Keith John and Curtis Ray Harris Jr.

A lifelong resident of the area, she was a homemaker. She was a member of the Willing Workers Garden Club and active in the Carter County Free Fair. Mrs. Harris was a Baptist.

Survivors include daughters and sons-in-law, Opal and Donald John, Ardmore; Charlene and Lloyd McClendon, Moore; and Shirley and Kenneth Johnston, Ardmore; sons and daughters-in-law, James Aubrey and Nora Harris, Ardmore, Curtis Ray and Darlene Harris, Provence, Boise Andrew and Laura Harris, Provence; 20 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.

Bearers are Kenneth Johnston Jr., Ricky Dean Johnston, Timothy Alan John, Ronald Harris McClendon, Corey Ray Harris, Jim Douglas Harris, Aubrey Gene Harris and Andy Harris. Honorary bearers are great-grandsons.
