Nancy Catherine Dodd was born to William Coleman Dodd and Malinda Skaggs. There is a discrepency as to when she was born. Many records show her born in 1846 (census, etc), however her gravestone shows 1839. She married Jordan Harper on Valentine's Day, 1861. She was my grandmother's grandmother and she used to tell us stories about going to visit her. She said she was an Indian and that she smoked a clay pipe and had a pet crow. She was also described to be Native American by her own son, James Ace, however details are sketchy. They were the parents of:
