Mary Crowder DeCell, 32, wife of Martin DeCell of Messenger Street, died Sunday morning at Kerbs Memorial Hospital. She was born Oct. 20, 1920, the daughter of George and Sally (Amos) Crowder. Besides her husband she leaves three daughters, Mary Susan, Judith Lynn and Nancy Jean; two sons, George Raymond and Earl Lee; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George Crowder, Greensborough, N.C. Four brothers, Richard, U. S. Navy, Yorktown, Va., Raymond and James, Greensborough, N.C., and George Jr., U. S. Air Force, Japan; four sisters, Mrs. Earl Stewart, Branford, Conn., Mrs. Glenn Hyatt, Miss Bertha Crowder and Miss Clara Crowder, Greensborough. Friends may call at the Heald Funeral Home until services Tuesday at 3. Entombment will be in Greenwood Cemetery vault. Raymond W. Heald Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Mary Decelle, 32, gave birth to her fifth child and then died of cancer less than 24 hours later. The apparently healthy 5-pound, 7-ounce boy was born Dec. 27. Dr. Walter Rath said "Mrs. DeCell was one of the most courageous women I've ever met in my life." (A.P. Wirephoto)
