Scott Madison Bowerbank 42, passed away July 27, 2007. Scott's passion was for flying. He lived his dream every day as the back-up pilot in Newschopper 3. Scott was not only a pilot and a reporter, but an instructor, and one of the most highly respected in the state.

A Camelback High School graduate, Scott went on to become the chief instructor at Quantam Helicopters in Chandler and currently was the Manager of Westcor Aviation. Scott was in charge of maintaining aircraft for Channels 3, 5, 10 and 12.

Scott was just as comfortable flying Newschopper 3 on TV, as he was flying Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones and Jeff Gordon from NASCAR when they came to town.

Scott's family would like to thank the community for all the outpouring of love and support for Scott and for them. They are so proud of his accomplishments and the fact he enriched so many other lives around him. They would also like to thank the media, especially Newschannel 3, for their loving and honorable tribute to Scott. They will miss him terribly.

Scott is survived by his parents, Rusty and Leslie Bowerbank, his sister and brother in law, Brad and Amy Cocreham and his 6 year old nephew, Max. Scott also leaves behind a close group of special friends who meant the world to him. Scott will also be missed by his beloved dogs, Coal and Harley.

A Memorial Service will be held at First United Methodist Church in Phoenix at 11;00 on Tuesday, July 31st. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to the Arizona Humane Society.
