William Alfred Hammitt, 55, of Spartanburg, died Friday, May 11, 1984

A native of Erwin, TN; son of John Samuel and Vada Lulu Whitlock Hammitt.

Retired from Clinchfield Railroad; member o peace Freewill Baptist Church; member of Spartan Masonic Lodge 70, and U.S. Navy veteran.

Also, surviving are his daughter, Barbara Ann Curcio; sons, Donnie Hammitt, Chris Hammitt, and Buddy Hammitt; brothers, Lawrence Hammitt and Ernest Hammitt; sisters, Leota Mink, Jonelle Caudill and Frances Gorman; five grandchildren.

Services were held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, at J.F. Floyd's Greenlawn Chapel by the Revs. Johnny Bullman and David Carter. Burial in Greenlawn Memorial Gardens.
