GEORGE W. WILSON JULY 28, 1917 - JULY 24, 2007 Age 89, of Patterson, died Tues., at Emanuel Med Cntr, Turlock.
Mr. Wilson was a native of Tupelo, OK, and was a resident of Patterson for 57 years. He was a farmer for 60 years and last worked at J.J. Stevinson Co. He was a parishioner of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson and a member of the Choctaw Indian Tribe. During WWII, he served in the US Army as a Combat Engineer Tech Sergeant, in the Phillipines. He rode in the rodeo circuit. He and his wife were past members of the Patterson Pacers Square Dancing Club. He enjoyed gardening, horses and watching rodeo events.
Mr. Wilson is survived by his wife, Sarah Jane Dias Wilson of Patterson; sons, Alvin Wilson of Scotts Valley, Joseph Wilson of Turlock, William Howard of Modesto; brothers, Thomas Wilson of San Bernadino, Simon Wilson of San Bernadino, Harold Wilson of Washington; sisters, Luella Mae Williams of TX, Betty Jean White of Turlock; 5 grandchildren and 5 great-grand children. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Elaine Wilson; brothers, one infant brother, also Ruel Wilson and James Wilson; sister, Ruby E. Flowers.
Visitation: 5-7 p.m., Thurs., 7/26; Rosary, 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson.
Visitation: 9:30 a.m., Fri., 7/27, funeral mass at 10:00 a.m.; Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Patterson.
