MR. WILLIAM JOSEPH KOHL, age 84, of Old Town passed away Friday, June 23, 2006 at North Florida Regional Medical Center in Gainesville. He was a member of the Salt Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Kohl graduated from New Moorfield High School in 1940 and moved here 10 years ago from Springfield, Ohio. He and his father were avid aviators. Mr. Kohl was a member of IOOF.
He is survived by his wife Gladys Marie Kohl of Old Town; sons, Mark Kohl of Fairborn, Ohio and Jerold L. Kohl of Jamestown, Ohio; daughters, Marsha Ackerman of Springfield, Ohio and Sharman Madden of Dayton, Ohio; sister, Sara Jane Blevins of Springfield, Ohio; brother, Paul Kohl of Cape Coral, FL; numerous grand and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Sara Kohl and a sister Dorothy Ulsh.
Funeral services for Mr. Kohl were held Tuesday, June 27, 2006 at 2pm at the Rick Gooding Funeral Home in Cross City with Pastor Doyle Thomas officiating. A visitation was held prior to the service between 12noon and 2pm. Burial followed at the Old Town Cemetery.
Arrangements were placed under the care of Rick Gooding Funeral Home, US Hwy 19, Cross City, FL, 352-498-5400.
