Evelyn Hazlett Beamer, 100, passed away on Wednesday, March 11, 2015.

Evelyn Hazlett Beamer, loving mother and grandmother, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Ithaca, NY, at the age of 100.

Mrs. Beamer, daughter of John Foreman and A. Elizabeth Eaton Hazlett, was a native of Manor, PA, attended Jeannette High School, and graduated magna cum laude from Seton Hill University in Greensburg, PA, in 1936. She married Norman Beamer of Manor, PA in 1940, who predeceased her. While her husband served in the Navy in World War II, she worked as an analyst for the Navy in San Francisco.

She loved music and was an accomplished pianist. She enthusiastically supported her children's scholastic and extra-curricular activities. She was a 50-year member of the P.E.O. Sisterhood.

She resided in Drexel Hill, PA, from 1946 to 1968. In 1968, Mr. Beamer became District Chief of the Water Resources Division of the US Geological Survey, and the family moved to Harrisburg, PA. The family attended the Broad Street Memorial Methodist Church in Drexel Hill and the Pine Street Presbyterian Church in Harrisburg.

Evelyn is survived by her son, Norman H. Beamer (Diane Tasca), of Palo Alto, CA, daughter Andrea Barnett (William) of Ithaca, NY, and three grandsons: Tyler and Alexander Barnett, and John Beamer.

Memorial donations may be made to Hospicare (hospicare.org) or the Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra (harrisburgsymphony.org). Memorial services will be held at a future time. Bangs Funeral Home, Ithaca, NY, is assisting the family. www.pennlive.com/obits
