Margaret was a member of Good Shepherd Community United Methodist Church, Carlisle. She had worked at several area garment factories, served as a cook at the Sarah A. Todd Memorial Home and the US Army War College and had worked several years at the Country Butcher Shop.
She is survived by one daughter, Lisa S. (husband, Brian) Hockenberry of Enola, three sisters; Charlotte Dyer of Halifax, Betty Miller of Newville, Freida Franklin of St. Thomas and Mary Hornberger of Lebanon, one brother, Donald Thumma of Boiling Springs, two grandchildren; Abby and Adam Hockenberry and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers; Raymond, Elwood and Richard Thumma.
Funeral services will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 26, 2019 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. William Pipp officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing be held at the funeral home on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service.
