Timmie “Tim” L. Abell, 65, of Fairfield, Neb., formerly of Arispe, Ia., passed away Wednesday, November 6, 2019, at Mary Lanning Healthcare in Hastings, NE.

Clay Center, Nebraska services:
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, November 9, 2019, at the Clay Center Christian Church in Clay Center, NE with Pastor Arick Johanson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, from 1 p.m. – 8 p.m., with the family present from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m., at McLaughlin Funeral Chapel in Clay Center, NE.

Afton, Iowa services:
Funeral service will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 11, 2019, at Powers Funeral Home in Afton, IA with Richard Cummings officiating. The family requests casual attire. Interment will follow the services Monday at Greenlawn Cemetery in Afton, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, from Noon until 4 p.m., with the family present from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., at Powers Funeral Home in Afton, IA.

Memorial contributions may be directed to the family to be designated later.

Tim L. Abell was born October 21, 1954, to Charles William “Bill” and Elizabeth Ferne Abell in Creston, IA. He graduated from East Union High School in 1972.

On September 23, 1972, he married Connie Sue Whited and to this union two children were born. Tim was employed with several different farmers and Winterset Hybrids before taking a position with NC+ in Hastings, NE in 1981. He was employed with NC+ for 24 years before accepting a position with Remington Seeds in Hastings, NE where he was employed until his health forced him to retire.

Tim enjoyed John Deere antique tractors, camping, fishing, gardening and spending time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife, Connie; son, Ernie (Debbie); daughter, Carmen (Terry); five grandchildren, Dakota, Colton, Cora, Colby and Taylor; two foster-grandchildren, Terry and Carolyn; and his mother, Ferne.

He was preceded in death by his father; two infant sisters; his grandparents; mother-in-law; father-in-law; and his brother-in-law.
