Douglas "Doug" James Campbell 1960—2019

Douglas "Doug" James Campbell, 58, Rockford, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2019. He was born with his twin brother, Scott, December 28, 1960, to Stanley and Charlene "Sherry" (Stocker) Campbell. He was a member of City First Church and was active in the Celebrate Recovery group at Heartland Community Church. Doug enjoyed playing his guitar, fishing, playing tennis, and especially loved reading his Bible. He played football at Northern Illinois University and also with the Rockford Rams football team. Doug coached the Rockford Raptors girl's youth soccer team.

Survived by his loving daughter, Hannah Campbell of Rockford; his mother, Sherry (Herb) Campbell of Rockford; his brothers, Jeff (Abbi) Campbell of Wisconsin Dells and Chris (Christine) Campbell of Rockford; his former wife, the love of his life, Paula Capone of Rockford; his nieces and nephews, Kayla, Todd, Brent, Sam, Katie, Maggie, Anna, Jack, Jeffery, and Patrick Campbell; his former sister-in-law, Kim Campbell; several cousins and many friends. Predeceased by his father, Stanley, and his twin brother, Scott.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, November 11, 2019, at the City First Leadership College Chapel located on Spring Creek Road just west of the City First Church. Private family burial will be at a later date. Visitation will be held from 2:00 P.M. until 4:00 P.M on Sunday, November 10, 2019, at Fitzgerald Funeral Home and Crematory, Riverside Chapel, 3910 N. Rockton Av. Rockford with a time of sharing at 4:00 P.M. There will be another visitation from 10:00 A.M. until 10:45 A.M. on Monday at the church. Memorials may be made to the family.
