Clarrinda I. was only 18 and still attending school when the 1870 census taker recorded Blodgett family members, just a few weeks before both "Clara," and her 20 year old brother, Joseph T., d. of unrecorded causes in August 1870. Tragically, on Sept. 12 that same year, their mother, Violette Blodgett,also died.
