CORDOVA, Tenn. — Matthew J. Lauter, 73, died June 2, 2014, in Cordova. Services are10 a.m. Friday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Chappanna Reddy Basali officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation is one hour prior to service time at the church. Robinson Funeral Home is entrusted with arrangements. Mr. Lauter was born March 1, 1941, in Barberton, Ohio, to the late Stanley Lautar and Josephine Mihelic. He was a 1959 graduate of West Point High School and attended Millsaps College and the University of Mississippi. He was formerly employed with Consolidated Packaging in Houston, and later founded Omni Packaging Corporation. He was a veteran of the Air National Guard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Marlene Lauter. He is survived by his sister, Georgia Ann Ingram of West Point; and brother, Stan Lauter of Germantown, Tennessee. Pallbearers are Max Hinshaw, Mickey Burgess, Clyde Pierce, Gert Hill, Kenny Dill, Dunlap Catledge and Leslie Goode. Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church 155 Market St. Memphis, TN 38105.
