Amy R. Griswold Lee, 99, a native of Elko County, died May 29 at Channing House in Palo Alto, California, according to information received here.
She was born October 13, 1985, in Ruby Valley to Willard S. and Margaret W. Griswold. She attended schools in Ruby Valley and later at Westminster College in Salt Lake City.
She married Paul Franz Lee after his graduation from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland. They were married on September 20, 1919, in Curline (possibly Carlin or Currie?), Elko County, Nevada, according to the Western States Marriage Record Index (#302957) on Ancestry.
After he had served in two World Wars, he retired as an Admiral and they resided in Palo Alto. She enjoyed entertaining and was a frequent visitor to Elko and Ruby Valley.
Survivors include a sister, Margaret Wright and a brother Stanley Griswold of Elk; two grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband and a son, Paul Griswold Lee.
Cremation is planned and her ashes will be scattered at sea from a naval destroyer.
A memorial service is scheduled next week in Palo Alto.
