Donald M. Allen, 81, of Newtown, a World War II veteran, died May 14 at White Horse Village.

Born in Pittsburgh and reared in Charleroi, he was educated in Charleroi public schools. He was a graduate of Valley Forge Military Academy, Washington and Jefferson College and the University of Pennsylvania Law School. Mr. Allen worked for most of his life at the Delaware Management Co. in Philadelphia. Head of the legal department, he was the vice president and corporate secretary and director.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served as a destroyer officer after the war.

He served as trustee of Washington and Jefferson College and director of the Helen Kate Furness Free Library in Nether Providence.

Survivors: Wife, Louise Colgan Allen; daughter, Amy Boyce of Chambersburg, sons, Michael Allen of Kennett Square, David Allen of Upper Providence.

Service: 11 a.m. Tuesday at White Horse Village, 535 Gradyville Road, Newtown Square.

Burial: Private.
