Mr. John Prentice Barker, age 70, passed away Friday, September 11, 2015, at his home.
He was born in Robeson County on January 18, 1945 to Pitman and Mildred Barker. John was the former owner of Triangle Ice Company for many years.
He is survived by his wife "Bunny" McNeill Barker of the home; two daughters: Kelli Barker Gunn and husband, George, of Dallas, TX and Blair Barker Moore of Dallas, TX; one brother, David C. Barker and wife, Linda, of Lumberton; three sisters: Mary Barker Allen and husband, David, of North Myrtle Beach, SC, Susan Barker McCrimmon and husband, Robert, of Carthage, NC, and Emily Barker of North Myrtle Beach, SC; and one grandson, Jackson Randall Holmes of Dallas, TX.
A time of visitation will take place on Sunday, September 13, 2015, from 5:00-7:00 PM at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory, Inc.
A memorial service will be held on Monday, September 14, 2015, at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church of Lumberton with Dr. David Elks officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lumberton Endowment Fund, P.O. Box 938, Lumberton, NC 28359; or to the Boys & Girls Homes of North Carolina, 400 Flemington Drive, Lake Waccamaw, NC 28450.
