Raymond Taulbee "Rick" Abner, age 64, of Mound Valley, KS, passed away Saturday, August 24, 2019, at home.

Services for Raymond Abner will be 10 AM Friday, September 6, 2019 at the Veteran's Cemetery in Winfield, KS, with memorial contributions for the family sent to Zach Webb Family Funeral Service, 1475 S. 10th, Independence, KS 67301. Visitation will be held 5-7 PM Thursday, September 5 at the funeral home.

Mr. Abner was born December 9, 1954, in Cleveland, OH, to Raymond and Loretta (Blackburn) Abner. He grew up in Hammond, IN, and went to Clark High School. He was a veteran of the US Army. He was a carpenter and handyman and also lived in Liberty, KY, and Ponca City, OK, before moving to the area. He was considered a foster father by many kids.

Survivors include: A sister, Carol Macias, of Carpentersville, IL. A brother, Christopher Brown, of Independence. An aunt, Linda Meraz, of Mound Valley, KS. Nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents.

The family of Rick Abner has entrusted the arrangement of the services to Zach and Dee Webb of locally-owned Zach Webb Family Funeral Service of Independence.
