Gerald D.Abraham, DDS

On August 24, 2019 Gerald "Jerry" Abraham passed on to eternal peace with Jesus at the age of 86. He is survived by Carolyn (nee Leypoldt), his devoted and loving wife of 62 years; his daughters, Jennifer Abraham, Virginia (Dan) Jagla and Beetle (Scott) Rank; his grandchildren Melissa (John) Mertins, Danny (Molly) Jagla, Ali (Joel) Zietsma), Caitlin (Matt) Reiff, Chip (Brittany) Rank and Lindsay Jagla and his three great-grandsons, Quinn, Sawyer and Levi.

Jerry will be remembered for his gregarious laugh, his tireless tenacity and optimism and his love of God and family.

Jerry's life work included a devotion to the field of dentistry. He graduated from Northwestern University School of Dentistry in 1957. After graduating he served in the Navy in Norfolk, Virginia, remaining in the reserves as a Lieutenant Commander. He subsequently opened his practice in Thiensville. Jerry was a member of the Psi Omega Dental fraternity, the Dental Forum and the American College of Dentists. He was a coordinator of the Northwoods Study Club.

Jerry was a proud NU alum serving on the Board of Regents and honored with the Northwestern Service Award. A devoted Wildcat, he rarely missed a football game and especially enjoyed the many years that the Cats beat the Badgers.

Jerry dedicated time to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, serving as President of the Congregation, Elder, Sunday School Teacher and Youth Group Leader. In addition he was a member of the Thiensville–Mequon Optimists and served on the Thiensville Architectural Control Board.

Jerry enjoyed time in the North Woods at Lynx Lake, time curling but mostly any time he spent with his wife and family.

Visitation Wednesday August 28 from 3:00PM until time of funeral service at 5:00PM at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, 11313 N. Riverland Road Mequon, WI 53092. Memorials to Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church appreciated.
