Professional Football Player. He played the wide receiver position for the National Football League's Oakland/Los Angeles Raiders from 1972 to 1985. Born Clifford Branch Jr., he played football collegiately at the University of Colorado at Boulder and during his collegiate career, he set the NCAA Division 1-A record for kickoffs returned for touchdowns with 8. He was also a standout track athlete during his college days and set the University of Colorado at Boulder and NCAA Championship record in the 100 meters with a time of 10.0 seconds at the 1972 NCAA championships semifinal in Eugene. Oregon. He was drafted by the Oakland Raiders in the fourth round of the 1972 NFL Draft and went on to exemplify the team's style of offensive football in the 1970s and 1980s. He starred for the Raiders for fourteen years before retiring after the 1985 season. He was a major part of the Raiders' three Super Bowl champion teams (XI, XV, XVIII). During his career, he was named to the Pro Bowl four times and was a three-time First team All-Pro.
