Sandy "Bill" Haynes Camper passed away on July 26, 2019. He was a graduate of Woodrow Wilson HS in 1949 and began his military career in 1950. He served in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War and retired from the United States Marine Reserves in 1981 as company first sergeant. Sandy taught printing at Ben Franklin Career Center for 15 years, retiring 1992.

He was born October 1, 1931 in Marlinton, WV to Norman Dale Camper (1907-1959) and Hester Mae Haynes-Camper (1905-2000) . He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion Kathryn "Katy" Marslender-Camper (1930-2019) whom he married on July 11, 1953 in Beckley, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1953, Page 23, Application Date: July 8, 1953); and brother, Thomas Dale Camper (1935-2019).

He is survived by three sons, Samuel Camper of Cool Ridge, Patrick Camper and wife Jody Camper and their children Cecilia Camper and Antina Camper of Kernersville, NC, and Ashley Camper and wife Cathy Camper and their daughter Lauren Camper of St. Albans, WV; and sister, Peggy Camper-Wyrick & husband Gilbert Wyrick of McLeansville, NC.

Service will be held 2:00 p.m. on August 6, 2019 at the Donnel C. Kinnard Memorial State Veterans Cemetery in Dunbar WV.
