Sherry Anne Baird made her transition peacefully at the age of 65 on June 4, 2013.

She earned her Associate of Art Degree from Glendale Community College and then went on to complete three degrees at ASU. Sherry earned a Bachelor's of Arts in Education followed by a Master's in Special Education and a Master's Degree in Counseling.

Along with being a devoted mother, wife, and friend, she was an inspiring teacher, student counselor, and creator of a peer mentoring program in the Deer Valley School District. Most recently she was a speaker, trainer of teachers, online class developer and instructor, and a career counselor for the Maricopa Community Colleges.

Sherry was a passionate lifelong learner, deeply spiritual, and loved to travel and explore Arizona, California, Colorado, and Oregon. She enjoyed and loved her two schnauzers, and gave her time and energy generously to all.

She is survived by her husband Bruce Baird, daughter Heidi Lichte, sister Debe Knaack (Gary), nephew Joe May (Michelle), and stepsons Aaron and James Baird.

We are grateful that she is reunited with both of her parents Howard and Beulah Simpson and her son Steve Lichte Jr.

The family wishes to extend their deepest thanks for the care and support given to Sherry by the doctors and staff at Cancer Treatment Centers of America, the doctors, nurses, and volunteers at Hospice of the Valley, and her community at Unity of Phoenix and Creative Living Fellowship.
