Sgt. E-5 Darren P. Hubbell, also knows as O.G. (old guy or Doc Hub) 38 died Wednesday June 20 in Iraq. The native of Jacksonville FL. was a member of Christian Life Fellowship Church in Cobbtown where he played the bass and also preformed with the church praise team. He was in the Army for 14 years, serving as a Senior Line Medic with the 1st BN, 64th AR, 3d ID for the last 7. He served 1 tour in Panama Canal, 1 tour in Afghanistan and 4 tours in Iraq. He loved to play his computer games was a history buff and enjoyed spending time outside at his fire pit. Survivors are his wife Dana Hubbell of Metter, son Darren P. Hubbell of Sumner (serving in Iraq); daughter Marina Hubbell of Sumner; step sons Franklin and Nash Rigdon both of Metter; parents, mother and step father Darlene and Kim Larsen; father Gary Hubbell of Jacksonville; brothers Jared and Chad Larsen both of Virginia, his in-laws Rev Murl and Ruth Gwynn of Collins. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday 4:00 at Christian Life Fellowship Church in Cobbtown with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will begin 10:00 at the church the morning of the funeral until funeral time. Sgt Hubbell will be buried with full military honors.
