Ms. Carol Ann Abernathy, age 46, of Conover passed away on Wednesday, May 22, 2019 at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem.
Born November 18, 1972 in Caldwell county, Carol was the daughter of William Keith and Nancy P. Price.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, William Price; her maternal grandparents, John and Carole Porter.
Carol enjoyed fishing. She will be remembered as Mama C. by many close friends. Carol was also a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Carol is also survived by a daughter, Jamie Abernathy of Lawndale; a son, James Abernathy, Jr. of Granite Falls; her fiancé, Benjamin Culbreth of Conover; a brother, Doug Price (wife Melanie) of Happy Valley; her paternal grandmother, Anna Mae Price of Granite Falls; The father of her children, James Abernathy, Sr. of Granite Falls; Carol is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A celebration of Carol’s life was held at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church on Saturday, May 25, 2019 at 2:00 PM with Pastor Daniel Buchanan officiating.
Interment followed the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers were: Trevor Aldridge, Brian Culbreth, James Abernathy, Jr., Chad Abernathy, Mike Judd and Arthur Price.
The family received friends at the church prior to the service from 12:30 PM to 2:00 PM.
