Oil City Derrick, Saturday, Sep 25 1976:

Alvin T. "Todly" Drake died Thursday night in the Oil City Hospital where he'd been since August 5. He was born at Victory Heights June 27, 1897, son of Mr. and Mrs. John Drake.


He lived in that area all his life, worked many years for Hunter-Wilson Barrel Works until the plant moved to Kentucky, then worked custodial jobs, last at Oil City Eagles Club and Seneca Fruit Market.


On May 23, 1918, he married Olive Perry, who died in 1925. On May 26, 1931, he married Geraldine Ritts, who died in October 1973.


Surviving are six daughters, Mrs. Henry (Anna) Kapp and Mrs. Nina Murin of Shippenville, Mrs. Charlotte Prevost and Mrs. Robert (Lois) Evans of Oil City, Mrs. Alfred (Margaret) Hiles of Reno, and Mrs. James (Betty) Mays of Bradley; a son, Charles Xander of Greenville; 21 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Mildred Pierce, Florida, Mrs. Ada Rector, Franklin, Mrs. Pearl Snyder, Massillon, OH, and Mrs. Martha Kester of Akron, OH; two brothers, Allan Drake of Tidioute and Dennis Drake of Franklin. Five sons and a daughter, a brother and a sister are deceased.


Services will be at the Louis H. Osenider Funeral Home with Rev. Merle Wonderling of Seneca, retired United Methodist minister, officiating. Interment will be in Heckathorn Cemetery.
