Max L. Booher, 85, of Buckeye Drive, Shirleysburg, died Monday, May 20, 2019, at his home.

Born June 3, 1933, in Huntingdon, he was a son of the late Harry and Flora (Cohenour) Booher. He was united in marriage to the former Lois C. James Dec. 31, 1952, at Rockhill. Mrs. Booher preceded him in death Aug. 27, 2015.

Mr. Booher is survived by two children, Stanley Booher and wife, Cindy, of Fayetteville, and Myrna Clark and husband Garry “Cricket” of Shade Gap; four grandchildren, Amy Heeter, Matt Booher, Anna Lehman and Michele Unruh; 11 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

The last surviving member of his immediate family, he was preceded in death by 11 brothers and sisters.

Mr. Booher was a member of the Aughwick Germany Valley Church of the Brethren, Shirleysburg, R.R.

He was a veteran, having served as a corporal in the United States Army.

Mr. Booher was a member of Madden-Wennick Post 518, American Legion, Rockhill, a past master of Cromwell Lodge 572 F&AM, Orbisonia, and the Harrisburg Consistory.

He retired in 1994 from Penelec after 28 years service.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, May 24, at the Aughwick Germany Valley Church of the Brethren, 16379 Loop Road, Shirleysburg, with Rev. Timothy Miller officiating. Interment will be made in the Germany Valley Cemetery, adjacent to the church.

Friends may call at the Martin R. Brown Funeral home, 565 Ridgley St., Orbisonia, from 7-9 p.m. Thursday and at the church one hour prior to the service Friday. Cromwell Lodge 572 will conduct a masonic funeral service at 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mr. Booher was a veteran serving as a corporal in the U. S. Army.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Aughwick Germany Valley Church of the Brethren, 16379 Loop Road, Shirleysburg, PA 17260.
