DUNN, Rita (Emminger)
Peacefully with her daughters and granddaughter by her side, at the St. Catharines General Hospital on Friday, September 6th in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husbands John Emminger and John Dunn, three brothers and one sister. Loving mother of Mark (Janice), Christopher (Theresa), Denis, Brian (Denise), and Marita (Rob Spaan) Emminger, and Karen (Ralph) Giancola. Devoted Gramma of Scott (Deidre), Craig (Kim), Hali, Riley, Sara, Joshua and Matthew, and Great Gramma to Brooke. She will be missed by her brother Albert, and her many nieces, nephews and friends, especially those whom she shared her daily devotion with.
The family extends sincere thanks to the palliative care nursing staff of the St. Catharines General Hospital, Dr. Raffi, CCAC, as well as Dr. Candace Beutow for taking care of Rita for several years. Also, thank you to the Red Cross volunteers for providing transportation, and to Tricia for making mom look so good.
Rita's family will receive visitors at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 585 Carlton on Tuesday, September 10th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm. A Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated at St. Alfred's Catholic Church, 272 Vine Street on Wednesday, September 11th at 11am. Rite of Committal following in Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Vigil Prayers will be recited in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3:30 pm.
If desired, memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Canadian Red Cross would be appreciated by the family.
