Mr. Abercrombie was born and lived on a farm. At a young age he knew he wanted to do better and move to Georgia. He started at the bottom and worked his way up. In 1973 he opened his own business, A & W Nursery and Garden Center. He retired successfully in 2007. James believed in hard work and honesty. His family was first in everything and everything he did was for his family.
Preceding him death are his parents, Alfred and Cleonia Abercrombie as well as his brother, Charles Abercrombie.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Abercrombie; son Mike (Kim) Abercrombie; grandchildred, Michelle (Hawk) Gunter and Elizabeth Abercrombie, brother Wayne Abercrombie; sisters, Amy (Sam) Wilks, Mary Anne Mulkey and Caryln Kirkland as well as extended family members.
. A funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 12, 2019 in the Rosehaven Chapel at 4 o’clock pm. Interment will follow in the Rose Haven Cemetery.
