Born Jan. 23, 1940, in Neosho, Mo., to Burton T. and Ruby Puett Singleton, she died March 9, 2004, at the Ardmore hospital.
She married L.F. Hughes on Sept. 19, 1958, in San Diego. He preceded her in death. She lived in Pooleville and Fox and moved to Wilson when she married Everett Laver Wright on May 25, 1975. They owned and operated a business in Wilson for 15 years. She was preceded in death by her father; a sister, Roberta Flowers; and brothers, Buddy C. and Everett C. Singleton.
Survivors include her husband, of the home; two daughters, Charlene McDonnell, Paoli, and Teresa Robison, Sitak, Alaska; four sons, Tommy Hughes, Booneville, Ark., Donny Hughes, Hobbs, N.M., Allen Hughes, Lovington, N.M., and Mickey Hughes, Wilson; 2 step-sons Warren and David Wright; her mother, Ruby Jones, Wilson; 19 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Tommy, Donny, Allen and Mickey Hughes, Charlie Robison and Richard McDonnell. Honorary bearers are T.J. Hughes and Charlie Davis
