Rebecca Jo Fall, 71, of Thompsonville, died Friday, December 13, 2013, at her home. She was born August 16, 1942, in Lansing, the daughter of Lawrence and Willa (Smith) Flynn.
Rebecca enjoyed school carnivals, snow sculptures, school marching band, and parades. She taught religion class, attended bible class, helped with sewing projects, calligraphy, and sing-alongs. She loved to read, do art projects, and work puzzles. She also enjoyed sending cards and writing letters to family and friends.
Rebecca loved the outdoors. She hunted and fished, and she tended to her gardens. When her children were younger, they would take family trips to the beach or camping.
Rebecca is survived by: her children, Richard Alan Fall of Traverse City, Andrew John Fall of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Maridee Diane Cutler of Benzonia, Lesley Doreen Wineberg of Barrie, Ontario, and Kirstie Joanne VanBuskirk of Lansing; three stepchildren, Roxanne Rae Fall of Traverse City, Holly Jo Hincks of Lake Ann, and Douglas Stephen Fall of Traverse City, numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her brothers, Lawrence Harold Flynn and David Paul Mikowski; and her sisters-in-law, Bonnie Weaver, Amy Decker, and Cindie Flynn. She is also survived by her former spouse, Douglas Floyd Fall whom she married on May 25, 1963. They lived in Grayling and Corpus Christi, Texas, before settling in Thompsonville.
Rebecca was preceded in death by: her father, Lawrence Flynn; and her mother, the Reverend Willa S. Mikowski.
Memorial Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be conducted at 11:00 AM, Tuesday, December 17, 2013, at St. Raphael Catholic Church, in Copemish, with Father Ruben Munoz officiating. Interment will take place in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens in the spring. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until time of services at the church.
The Bennett-Barz Funeral Home, in Beulah, is in charge of arrangements.
