Mrs. Darnell was killed, along with her three-week old grandson Asheton Darnell, in the tornado that hit the Bridge Creek community of Tuttle, Okla., on May 3, 1999.
Born April 16, 1945 to Harold and Alice Kelly Soule in Britton, Okla., she grew up in Fallon, graduating from Chruchill County High School in 1963. She enjoyed gardening and animals.
Mrs Darnell was preceded in death by her mother in 1986.
Survivors includ her husband of 30 years, Harrison Blayne Darnell, son, Deon and daughter-in-law Samatha Darnell, daughter, Michele, and grandson Wyatt, all of Tuttle, Okla., her father and brother Bob Soule, both of Fallon; brother Leon Soule of Fernley; and numerous aunts, uncle, and cousins.
